EARL, a robot that plays bowling

EARL (Automated Robotic Enhanced Launcher) is a one-armed robot that plays to the bowling alley and is used by the Specifications and Certifications team National Bowling Congress to try different equipment.

Thanks to technology , can be programmed to do a shot followed by another and another and so on with speed are between 16 and 38 km / h and can spin a ball between 50 and 900 revolutions per minute. EARL has come to replace the old Harry, who was the robot used since 1999. It is not known whether they have been competing among themselves.

The data collected are used to establish rules and also to design equipment such as lanes, balls and even pine.

EARL recently debuted to the public in Texas and seem to have very good aim. He faced superstar Chris Barnes, but the end result is unknown, but probably the latter has been the winner.
