Verne Bq Plus, analysis, features and views of a tablet Android 2.1
All is not Apple or Samsung on the ground of the tablets . There are also small businesses and BQ also dare to launch their own tablets that do not meet even the most spectacular features make up for a competitive price that makes them very desirable for many people. This is the case of the tablet BQ Verne Plus, a small tablet of 7-inch we tested and discussed here today My Gadget World.
Display and first impressions
Accustomed to touch the iPhone 2 ( you know the rumors of the iPhone 3? ) to get a BQ Verne Plus for the first time you may feel a little uncomfortable mostly due to the thickness of the tablet. However, the handling of the tablet is quite fluid . Your screen 800 x 480 pixel resistive type is more than enough to surf the web and run most applications. The only negative in the case of the screen is just as resistive type which requires a little extra effort when using the tablet.
Memory, processor and connectivity
Looking inside the gadget we have a capacity of 8 GB storage expandable via a microSD card , something very positive for the Bq.
In the section of the processor, the tablet BQ Verne Plus carries a 600 MHz ARM 9 . The truth is that it is the best processor considering the competition. However, taking into account the adjusted price (220 €) we let it happen.
As for the connectivity of the tablet BQ we have a HDMI output, WiFi connectivity and microUSB 2.0 output . It also highlights that the tablet comes in two versions, the WiFi and the 3G version so it is possible to get a data rate and stay connected at all times.
Multimedia
For entertainment the Verne Bq Plus incorporates a 1.3 megapixel camera , headphone jack and speakers which curiously amazed at its quality. The photos clearly leave much to be desired but considering that this is not the main objective of the tablet, but a secondary aspect we will not so important.
Autonomy
Autonomy is not bad, it can withstand almost 6 hours surfing the web in an intensive and 9 hours listening to music. Nor can expect all the gadgets they reach the autonomy of 10 hours of iPhone 2.
Operating System
Perhaps this is the most negative of the tablet. And is that Android 2.1 it is true that a little disappointed that has not been upgraded to a newer version of the Google operating system for mobiles. But neither wrong, Android 2.1 has been one of the best versions of the operating system and access the Android App Store opens up a world of possibilities for the tablet.
Conclusions
Obviously not going to be an iPhone 2. The quality is adjusted according to their price. It is a tablet size that is well worth fitting for one who wishes to enter the world of tablets for the first time but do not want to spend large amounts of money. The operating system is a bit old but that is something you can ignore if you’re not a geek total. At the end of the tablet is fine if you primarily use to surf the web, run any application and view a video, that is what it is for a tablet. Turn leads to an attractive price for a tablet that you can keep us entertained during long journeys to work.
Samsung AMOLED
Samsung is responsible for the production of one of the types of screens for mobile devices of the moment, the range of AMOLED displays . These screens ensure a quality superior color LCD screen to present, alongside a smaller power consumption than these. Well, it was expected throughout 2011 , Samsung will begin to make screens 6 “and 9″ in order to provide their tablets of this type of display. Because of the disaster in Japan will have to postpone this production until 2012 at least.
Samsung introduced a prototype of a tablet with 7 “AMOLED screen, which managed to capture the attention of all, this meant that the vast majority of users wanted that kind of tablets come into production soon. And Samsung planned to start the manufacture of screens in the form of 6 “and 9″ would begin during 2011 to manufacture tablets to mount these great screens. Samsung Mobile Display, Samsung department which is responsible for researching and manufacturing their screens, is planning to eat in the manufacture of Super AMOLED displays for mobile handsets Plus during the second quarter of this year.
Consequences of the earthquake
This, coupled with the fact that Nikon, Japan earthquake and subsequent tsunami, can not provide the scanners required for the successful production by Samsung of their screens, Samsung has made the decision to delay entry into production of its larger AMOLED displays. We are all eager to enjoy tablets that incorporate this type of display for the benefits that involve, aside from the quality of image, also in energy saving, which is so scarce in all the latest devices. Unfortunately we have to wait until at least early 2012 to start producing these screens.
Samsung production will lead to a transparent screen 22 inches

We will not find anything to say that Samsung is a leader in display market and the development of its technologies. The Korean company is also responsible advertise technology in the different events in which it occurs.
Sometimes in commercial products, others in prototype form to dazzle the staff, this is the case of flexible displays, and transparent that showed over the last year.

Samsung has decided to producing a transparent screen with a panel LCD 22-inch and 1680 x 1050 pixel resolution. There will be two versions, one in color and black and white, with 15 and 20% transparency respectively.
From the point of view of consumption, Samsung reports that the screens need 10% of the energy used by an LCD standard , and that somehow takes advantage of ambient light (I guess I will need good lighting). Other interesting values ??are the levels of contrast, 500:1, input HDMI, ports and USB.
Strange that Samsung has decided to take this technology into a display of considerable size, and not one of the most powerful departments, the mobile device. We remind you that Sony Ericsson has already placed on the market a phone with a similar display, the Xperia Pureness.
Samsung enhances the production of AMOLED displays

Samsung are in luck . And so are all mobile phone manufacturers and tablets that normally use – or want to use – components developed in the factories of Samsung. You know that one of the largest objects of desire that shows the Korean company is working with the display technology Super AMOLED , used in terminals as successful as the Samsung S Galaxy or Galaxy S II .

Despite the success he has had with their own devices and other multi-brand, Samsung has struggled repeatedly to not having a sufficient quantity of Super AMOLED panels to supply world demand. Now Samsung has set out to expand the number of panels available …
Samsung opens new production line for AMOLED
The mobile display division of Samsung (SMD) announced today in Korea, that its new line of AMOLED panel production is ready to supply the high market demand that exists today, this mainly due to the million units sold Samsung S2 Galaxy and high demand from manufacturers for this type of display. This new line belongs to the 5.5 generation Samsung panels and aims to soon have two production lines.

The size of this new panel is 1300 × 1500 mm instead of 730 x 920 mm 4.5g of the previous generation, allowing manufacturers to produce devices with larger screens, while maintaining image quality.
Samsung now controls almost 100 percent of the production of this type of display is expected that this year the AMOLED market to triple over last year.
Galaxy Tab: differences between versions 10.1/10.1v
When a few months ago Samsung introduced at Mobile World Congress its new 10-inch tablet no one could foresee that soon after launch a very similar model with a few distinguishing characteristics.
The reason for this change was recognized by Samsung, Apple launched the iPhone 2 , so that the Korean company decided to redesign the device and had not yet gone on sale, while another had begun to be manufactured.
Samsung redesigned slightly tablet resulting in two types. The first went ahead with the suffix V because it would be Vodafone which will market it. The second was the original name.
Dimensions
The model’s dimensions are 246.2 x Vodafone 170.4 x 10.9 mm and weighs 600 grams, while the new model are 256.6 x 172.9 x 8.6 mm and weighs 595 grams. This shows that the thickness was one of the main reasons for the redesign, because the weight is virtually the same.
Interface
The version of Vodafone does not have a custom interface, something that appeals to many users of Android, while the version without the V has a layer, the Touchwiz known that, although not as intrusive as in the mobile, it is true that changes aspect of Android and may delay updates.
Camera
But the strangest was the change of the camera, because instead of maintaining the same Samsung chose to change the rear of the 8 MP resolution 3264 × 2448 pixels version of Vodafone to give 3.15 MP 2048 × 1536 pixels of the new model.
In addition, the tablet Vodafone can record Full HD at 1080p while the version without the V record at 720p.
Conclusion
Price aside, and considering the technical characteristics of the devices, it seems that except the thickness, Vodafone version has better benefits and they do not have any interfaces added.
